"Gold Medal Famous" was forged in the fires of 2008 and had their first show at the legendary Arc Cafe in Dunedin. Currently conveniently based in the geographic epicentre of New Zealand, namely Wellington, Gold Medal Famous like to rock. Eating genres in popular music, Gold Medal Famous is their own genre of avant-garde pop music.

Gold Medal Famous shows involve controlled stage mayhem described accurately by an audience member recently as: "A little bit of love you, a little bit of f**k you". Playing live is all important for Gold Medal Famous. They've had fun playing such hives of entertainment as The Watusi, Happy, The Adelaide, Mighty Mighty, San Fransisco Bath House, The Kilbernie Fesitval, Fred's and a house party on Moxham Avenue in Wellington. Outside of Wellington Gold Medal Famous has played The Dog's Bollix in Auckland, The Cubbyhole in Hamilton, Arc Cafe and a Radio One live to air in Dunedin.

Look out for them in a town near you. Soaring guitars, a squealing theremin, pounding electronic beats, futuristic synths, light-speed laptops, creative cornet, pulsating percussion, generous gimmicks and a frontman for whom the world is his stage. Gold Medal Famous is coming for you! Gold Medal Famous is pleased to present to you their second album "100 years of rock". This is 36 minutes of variety for today's busy professional. A variety show of styles, yet forming a cohesive whole. This is like nothing you've ever heard. A point of difference beyond so called "mavericks" dulling up the scene. From the surf celebration of "Party theme", to the electropop delights of "All the shining lights", to the audience favourite of "Don't just text me, call me" to the climax conclusion of sonic mayhem, aggression and noise beauty of album closer "New Wallet".

"100 years of rock" has something for everyone. Well, perhaps not "Justin Bieber" fans, but there is a song about him. So, Let's party. Gold Medal Famous is here."
